One thing that we at White Rabbit Parties are passionate about is the idea of reusing and recycling materials to make something new. Children enjoy creating something wonderful out of materials which would otherwise be thrown away, and the concept fits in with the move towards being more environmentally friendly.
Activities that we can provide include:
Hat workshop - children use a huge selection of materials to design and make their very own hats which they can then wear for a parade. Ideas include using a crown base, paper bag (made from recycled paper of course!) or rolled up newspaper or magazine tubes as a framework which can then be decorated with feathers, pom poms, foam shapes, fabric, tulle, ribbons and baskets full of other materials.
Junk Modelling - based on a theme, children can be inspired and guided by our craft assistants to produce their very own junk model animal or vehicle
Decorated photo frames - frames can be decorated with squares of recycled fabric, cellophane, decorated papers and foil to create a block design effect
Tin Collecting Cans - this is a sophisticated and very fun type of junk modelling! Recycled tin cans can be turned into useful collecting pots for pencils, toy animals, marbles, coins or anything else you can think of by covering them with fabric, foam or card and then using a range of embellishments to make an artistic design or pattern, or a character.
Jewellery - we can source beautiful beads made from recycled glass, rolled paper and Fairtrade producers in the Third World to create a truely eco-friendly bead project.
Eco Friendly Hobby Horse and Animal Puppet Kits - these kits are constructed from 90% recycled carboard and are decorated by the children with 100% recycled paper and fabric shapes.
It is also possible for us to be eco-friendly in other ways, including Fairtrade and organic catering, ethical party bags and fillers, reusable or compostable tableware as opposed to disposable paper items, invitations made from recycled materials and biodegradable balloons -what a good example to set to our children!
